They are saying the blast was equal to as much as a 3kt blast. This is the closest I hope we ever get to seeing this kind of civil destruction we’ll ever get in the modern age.
This is a 3kt blast in downtown SLC. Pretty much all of downtown destroyed or heavily damaged.

did you notice in the aerial before and after picture the ship that was next to the blast was now on the other side of the harbor smashed up against the wall there? That’ s a lot of force.

“
Only” 170 dead? Even if it’s double that number, that’s a whole lot less than I would have expected from a blast that size.
That’s seriously insane. I wonder what it’d be like to help clean up after a blast like that. I mean, that giant tangle of rebar alone... it makes me wonder what a group of people with basic hand tools could accomplish in a day or two.

Basically a 12 story building-sized crater

I didn't realize the death count was so high, but I also realize it could have been so much more. Simply catastrophic. Really puts anti maskers into perspective.

Took quite a while to clean up the WTC, and the destruction was a lot less than this.

Those aerials were taken about a month apart (June 9/Aug 5) and if you look close you can tell it’s not the same ship . Still wild though that the ship that was on the other side got tipped onto it’s side, plus the smallest boat in the picture wound up fully on land.

I’m guessing he wasn’t home at the time. Quite a view.

I was wondering how well that structure next to it deflected the blast. I used to blow things up for a living in targeting intel so I actually planned how to hit things effectively .

The article I read said it was after 6 PM so the docks were basically empty aside from security personnel. If it had been a few hours earlier the death toll likely would have been over 5,000
